Daily Menu

There will be a tentative set menu for each day. The following is a list of what will most likely be served, but this may change. As much as reasonably possible, the food served (including milk and juices) will be organic. Each week, we will include one of each child's favorite meal and at least one favorite snack. No one is expected to clean their plate but all are encouraged to not be wasteful. To insure your child is eating a balanced and healthy diet, we have signed up with the federal Child Care Food Program.

Breakfast

One of the following will be provided:

  • Whole grain cereal, hot: (Examples: Oatmeal / Cream of Wheat / Buckwheat with cinnamon, honey, nuts and fruit added)
  • Whole grain cereal, cold: (Examples: Puffin's Cinnamon / Regular, Cascadian Purely O's or Honey Nut O's, or other comparable organic whole grain cereal)
  • Whole wheat pancakes (or waffles) with blueberries & chocolate chips
  • Whole wheat toast with egg & cheese
  • Other possibilities depending on children's favorite foods
  • Choice of fruit at each meal (grapes, melon or citrus, banana, depending on what is in season)

Lunch

One of the following will be provided:

  • PB&J
  • Yogurt or cottage cheese
  • Grilled cheese
  • Pinto beans with cheese, or a bean burrito
  • Home made mac & cheese
  • Home made soup (varies, depending on what's in season)
  • Other possibilities depending on children's favorite foods
  • Choice of fruit (grapes, melon, citrus, banana, depending on what is in season)

Snacks

One of the following will be provided:

  • Whole wheat crackers, fruit snacks, veggies, dips, trail mix or nut mix
  • Other possibilities depending on children's favorite foods

Beverages

One of the following will be provided:

  • Milk, filtered water, fruit juice (flavors vary)
